Just a quick one-

What connects these:
A country in Eurasia, a Greek city, and a dreamy phenomenon?

I will say running because:

A country in Eurasia is Iran…I ran
A Greek city is Marathon which saw a famous battle between the greeks Persians after which Pheidippides, a Greek soldier, was sent to Athens announce that the Persians had been defeated. Legend has it that he ran the entire distance without stopping.
A dreamy phenomenon is running endlessly and not getting anywhere, a similar phenomenon to trying to answer CTQ 64.

Turkey has European and Asian sections..... I wonder if this is why Eurasia is the noted continent?

The Sea of Marmara and Dardanelles Strait "connect" Turkey......

I was thinking Bulgaria. Bulgaria has always reminded me of bulgar wheat.

And for some reason, when you wrote 'dreamy phenomena' I got thinking of 'cream of wheat' (dream of wheat or something).

I'm sure I'm far off base on both of these.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the body. ARMenia borders turkey, and a dreamy phenomenon could be out of BODY experience. Don't quite have a Greek city though :(

Or it could be something to do with humans or something like that.

Also I thought about something with a line of latitude, since countries bordering Turkey mostly share the same latitude as Greece has.

Anything here on the right track? I can't think of anything more tonight.

Here's what a friend had to say on the matter:
Quote:
I was thinking Eurasia country = Greece, dreamy phenomenon = John Travolta (the star of both Grease, and a movie called Phenomenon)...and that would leave the Greek city being something like Travolta can't find a city that fits what I'm going for though

Another friend had this to say:
anyway, best thing i can think of is the ending "-ria"
Quote:
bulgaria (country), kalamaria (greek town... not a city, it's 11th largest, and pretty small, but they're all pretty small), and phantasmagoria (a dreamy phenomenon)

Ok here is my guess :)

Demis Roussos

A country in Eurasia, a Greek city, and a dreamy phenomenon?

country in Eurasia: Georgia (name father is George)

greek city: Olga (name mother is Olga)

dreamy phenomenon: B-side of a record

ok, I think I *may* have it... :!:

Is it Thermopylae/Leonidas?

A country in Eurasia: Persia, modern day Iran

greek city: Sparta

dreamy phenomenon: Ephialtes, the greek traitor who led the Persians through a secret passage at Thermopylae and whose name became a synonym for nightmare

if yes, it was easy
